Often referred to in the north west as the Liverpool sign company, Benson Signs was founded in 1969 by Chris Benson as a sole proprietorship, becoming a Limited Company in 1974. By the mid 1980’s the Company was firmly established as a leader using high technology sign production. The Company moved to new premises in the northern docks area of Liverpool in 1989. Since then there has been a continuous programme of re-investment in plant and equipment. From traditional signwriting to full colour digitally printed signs and banners, hand fabricated signs in timber and metal to intricate laser cut logos and signs, we believe we now have the widest range of sign production facilities in the north west of England.
Our current premises stand on the site of a 19th century engineering works, tenements and three pubs.
These were demolished many years ago as part of Liverpool Council's clearance programme.
Rumour has it that the landlord of one of the pubs was so upset at having to leave his beloved establishment that he ran back in during demolition only to be smothered by the tumbling masonry.
His ghost roams our workshops at night calling "Time gentlemen please!".
